At Kessler Sports Performance, our approach to training is built on a simple framework: when dedicated athletes, individualized programming, attention to detail and sound coaching come together, the results take care of themselves.

Mission & Philosophy

Training at KSP is built around long-term development. The goal is to help athletes build habits that support steady improvement over time.

Consistent training with an emphasis on mastering technique before increasing load

• Smart recovery practices (arm care, sport specific mobility, foam rolling, stretching, etc)

• Nutrition and lifestyle habits that support performance (sleep, hydration, fueling, etc)

Establishing Productive Habits

Increasing speed, power, and durability, starts with having a solid foundation of strength. At KSP, strength development is used as a tool to help athletes move better, produce more force into the ground, and become more resilient over time.

Strength development becomes even more important as athletes enter 8th grade and high school; where building strength safely through proper technique and full ranges of motion provides the foundation for improving speed and power, and driving overall athletic performance.

Developing Strength and Power

KSP training follows a metric-driven approach. Strength numbers and key power metrics are tracked so athletes can see measurable progress over time. Athletes will periodically test:

  • 10–15 yard dash

  • 5-10-5 pro agility test

  • Vertical jump

  • Broad jump (single leg, double leg, lateral)

  • Sport-specific metrics such as exit velocity and pitching velocity (in collaboration with sport coaches)
